It's been awhile since I've blogged, sorry to my 2 or 3 readers, it's been a busy time of lots of change and adjustment around here!
We've started doing homeschool and so far so good. Every once in awhile teacher and students need a bit of an attitude adjustment but mostly it's going pretty well. The biggest challenge I have found has been coming up with independent lessons for each of the boys to do while the other one needs my attention. Slowly I'm finding more and more ideas for them that arent just ipad apps(much to the boys displeasure as they really like their learning app time :). One benefit of living in a warmer climate is that every once in awhile even in December we can do school outside!
We have been able to go see and do a few things around the city so far. We have enjoyed picnics at the waterwall with Daddy a few times (Carl's office is very close to this so he meets us there for picnics)
We also were able to go over to Galveston for the day and checkout the beach. It wasnt even 70 degrees on this day and the kids had instructions to not go past their knees, that rule didnt last long, those waves were just too tempting. They didnt complain it was cold and they had a blast.
We have also gotten a zoo membership since it's not too far from our house. The kids love going to see the animals.
We were all very excited Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for Christmas!
We were able to take them to see the beautiful Christmas lights around town, here are a few of our favorites although the pictures dont really do them justice.
Christmas morning we got up and had to have the obligatory picture with the tree
And then we checked out stockings
And finally present time!
The kids each got a new bike this year since they all needed one and down here you can acyually ride them the day you get them :). Here is our Christmas Eve bike assembly, thankfully Grandpa was here to help!
We were also able to do a few fun things with Grandma and Grandpa while they were here, the kids took them to the zoo one day when I wasnt feeling well and we also were able to take them out to the space center. Our space nut was in heaven!
And the boys got to go check out a Rockets game while the girls(and Ezra) checked out one of the shopping areas
We were all sad when Grandma and Grandpa had to go home so we went to a park to cheer up a little.
I hope to keep up a little better in the months to come. We appreciate everyones prayers and Christmas cards and gifts over the past few months. We hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!
